Q:
What is included in an apartment?
A: Each apartment,
unless noted otherwise in the description, is fully-furnished,
including the kitchen.
Q: What is
considered short-term lease?
A:
Short-term leasing is from one day to less than six months.
Periods of six months and longer are considered long-term.
Many owners offer reduced rates for longer periods.
Q: What is included
when renting a room?
A: Room rental
usually includes the use of the bathroom(s) and the
kitchen. It may or may not include use of other areas,
such as the living room, balconies, etc.
Q: How is the rental
price of an apartment established?
A: The price
is normally calculated as a monthly lease. The rate will
depend on the size of the apartment, the characteristics
and area in which the apartment is located, and the length of stay.
Q: What is included
in the rent?
A: The price
includes the rental fee itself, as well as some extra expenses
(such as heating, water, building maintenance and cleaning,
porter services, etc).
Electricity, gas and phone/Internet are usually separate (considered
"utilities.")
Q: How is rental payment
made?
A: If the apartment
is reserved ahead of time, a deposit may be requested
by the owner, which is non-refundable if the reservation
is cancelled.
If no reservation is made, rental payment is made at the
moment the client enters the apartment, and may require paying a certain number of months’
payment in advance (i.e. 1, 2 or 3 months), as well
as the deposit itself, which may be equal to one to three
months’ rent, and which will be refunded to the client
at the end of the rental contract, minus any expenses incurred
due to apartment damages or outstanding expenses for electricity,
gas and phone/Internet.
Q: Is Internet available
in the apartments?
A: If a phone line
is present, Internet can be activated. This is usually at
an additional cost. In the (rare) event that a phone line
is not available, cellulare phones can also utilize
Internet services at an additional cost.
